Zack Ehling

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Zack over the past year and I can honestly say that every event, meeting and trip we've participated in together has been a blast! There is never a dull moment with him; he's always making me laugh, along with everyone else around him. But don't be mistaken, he definitely has a serious side; it's what makes him the amazing supervisor I've come to know! Zack always knows how to act and what to say and do in every single situation. Whenever I have a problem, I know I can go to him for a solid solution.

I've been able to see Zack in multiple different leadership positions and he's been fantastic at them all! He is the type of leader to constantly encourage his peers and employees while giving them insightful guidance when they need it. Being one of Zack's co-supervisors this coming summer as a SOC is something I'm looking forward to because I know I will learn so much from him. He seems to be just the right amount of professional and personal, which is what I strive to be with our SOLs.

You can clearly tell when Zack is passionate about something because he always stands up for what he believes in, even if it's not the popular opinion. I admire that about him, because this is not an easy thing to do. Speaking of passions, he has so many of them! Zack loves to go on camping trips with his friends, and his Jeep of course, where he will spend days driving through beautiful streams and kicking up some mud! I can tell he has a passion for educating as well (whether it's about pools, lifeguarding, or UC Blue Ash) which is why I know he'll make a great teacher someday.

Zack, I am so happy to know you as a colleague, but most importantly... as a friend. Throughout our changing roles at UCBA, we've met so many different people along the way and you happen to be one of the few I consider family (I can't not mention our mom Stephanie here, she's another good example lol). I hope to never lose touch with you in the coming years as we transition to Clifton and eventually into the real world. Meeting you has had such an impact on me during this fun, crazy and sometimes hectic journey we've shared together at UCBA. I can't thank you enough for that. Oh, and thanks for letting me put your hair in pony tails constantly!!! :)
